HISTORY OF OUR BREEDS
Whether you already know about Estate Guardians or you're new here, we've provided a little information on the background of our beautiful group of dogs we have here! Many of you may have seen and can't help but fall in love with our crew, yet you may not know about each breed's capabilities, purpose, or history! Here you'll obtain more of an understanding of these beauties in case you're interested in owning one yourself one day!
Here at Estate Guardians, we absolutely cherish our dogs, and take the most pride in the dogs that we have! We've worked extremely hard to provide a group of excellence for Estate Guardians by hand picking nothing but the best dogs possible including every single dog that we own. You'll find that all of our dogs have some of the best pedigrees out there. Right now we have two different breeds of mastiffs, being the Cane Corso and the Boerboel. You'll find that both of these breeds are protective and loyal. You would be hard pressed to find a better companion than these two!
First up are the Boerboels, also known as South African Mastiffs! This breed goes way back to around the 1600's and were founded in South Africa. This is where they are still mainly found today, yet are quickly becoming more popular in the United States. These dogs were bred in South Africa for the purpose of protecting people and their land. They were trained to defend people's homestead against large predators or intruders. They were bred to be extremely big boned and muscular in order for them to obtain this protection role. These dogs are not known to be the fastest runners, but they are incredibly strong and tough natured. Boerboels were made to withstand any outstanding trial that comes their way; they were bred to survive and conquer. They have a great desire to please their owner and are very loyal. They're very loving and playful, however will be protecting and/or act when needed. They'll stay right by your side and take all of the attention you'll provide! They're very easy to get along with and would be a great friend to many!
We are especially proud to be able to say that our very own Boerboel Stud, KS Ezekiel, is from South Africa! KS Ezekiel is sired from KS Huey from the Klein Sandfontein Kennels in South Africa! Ms. Beverli Katz, owner of Klein Sandfontein Kennels, won Breeder of the year in 2020! KS Huey has sired the number one and number two Boerboels in the world at two different times! His dam, MES Perfect, is also admirably from world renowned lineage containing one of the highest scoring dogs in the world! KS Ezekiel comes from a long line of world renowned Boerboels and we are beyond excited for his future! He has been nothing but outstanding in his looks, personality, and loyalty! We adore our Boerboel Stud, aka Zeke!
Now for our Cane Corso breed, also known as Italian mastiffs! This breed originates from Italy, and are descendants from a Roman war dog, the Canis Pugnax, which were known to be around all the way back in ancient times! They came to the U.S in the late 1980's and have rapidly become more and more popular today. Cane Corsos were bred for purpose of complete protection and skilled hunting. It is in them to guard and defend with everything in them, and they're ready at a moments notice to do so! This large breed is extremely agile, strong, athletic, observant, and intelligent. They're quick learners, and easy to train. For this breed, it's strongly encouraged to know about proper handling of the Cane Corso before owning one. It is highly encouraged to socialize them and train them early on. Remember, these dogs are protectors and very territorial, so socializing them and making sure they know who's boss by proper training is important for this breed. However, once this is established, they make one of the best companions you could ask for. These dogs were bred to protect and be loyal and that's exactly what they do. They absolutely don't mess around when it comes to who they love!
We are also extremely proud to have Bluegrass Elijah as our Corso Stud! He is sired by none other than Champion Scandifios American Sniper! He undoubtedly looks like the Son of a Champion as he draws a crowd and attention every time he is seen in public! You don't forget him when you see him! We've seen excellence in everything about Bluegrass Elijah including his looks, his remarkable intelligence, and his desire to protect his home! We couldn't be more proud of our Corso Stud, aka Eli!
